According to most theorists and practitioners, rocks and natural caves, Chartaghi, as well as underground chamber-like sites are assigned to Mithraism implying the birth of Mehr from rocks and mountains. That is why these places are highly venerated in Mithraism. In addition, they were also house of deities’ worship.
