Abstract

Buildings, as small parts of a larger whole as a city, play a decisive role in the formation of the image and ultimately the citizens' mental image of that city. These small components can present a special and unique image of a city by repeating the design patterns, height, color of the body and the way they are adjacent. In the native architecture of Mazandaran, as in other temperate and humid parts of the country, openings are used for proper wind ventilation and space ventilation. The buildings in this area have sloping roofs, platforms and windows to receive favorable wind, which makes them different from other climatic parts of the country.
This research seeks to negate the harmonized and integrated rules of the country in the field of construction and promote the use of materials of the same form and shape for economic or regulatory purposes and it is believed that in the northern climate of the country due to the small temperature difference in different seasons Some of the traditional elements used in the old facades can be used in the facades of new buildings and through their repetition in the city, a unique urban landscape can be brought to northern cities, including Sari. The information of this research was collected based on library studies and field observations, and four residential houses that had valuable architecture in Sari city were studied to analyze the elements affecting the facade of the house.
In order to achieve the goals, he considers it important to pay attention to two elements "sash windows" and "ceiling head" in this building. Among the reasons for choosing these two elements, we can mention their impact on the facade of the buildings and their impact on the urban landscape and creating an identity for the northern cities. The present article believes that according to the specific climate of the region and the rules and number of floors of contemporary buildings, these elements can be used in residential design in different layers and introduce the appearance of northern cities with a different view from other parts of the country.
