This element, in Iran and India’s gardens, seems very differently. In the Iranian garden, it is selection of a point for looking at the garden’s landscape. In this case, viewer’s look is completely referred to the garden’s view and is tied up to its aesthetical elements. In the Indian garden, point of the belvedere is not that important. Moreover, the aim is various views in different areas of garden and showing the organized geometric system on its bed. This research attempts to study concept of the belvedere in two aspects, content and the body, in Indian samples to find the reasons of mentioned varieties. According to this article, despite of Iranian samples, the belvedere in Indian gardens not for the decorated and selected landscape comprehending in Main Street, but it is designed for a full domination on its various levels. Actually, the different perception that emerges from landscaping the Indian garden varies the concept of belvedere. نظرگاه به عنوان یکی از مهمترین عناصر باغ ایرانی؛ آن بخش از باغ است که می‌توان در نقطه‌ای بالاتر از سطح باغ، بر آن نظر انداخت. این عنصر در باغ‌های ایران و هند، بسیار متفاوت جلوه می‌کند. این عنصر در باغ ایرانی گزینش نقطه‌ای برای نگاه به منظر باغ است. در این مورد، نگاه ناظر تماماً معطوف به منظر باغ است و با عناصر زیباساز آن گره می‌خورد. در باغ هندی جهت دید نظرگاه چندان مطرح نیست و هدف دیدهای متفاوت در عرصه‌های مختلف باغ و نشان دادن نظام هندسی سامان یافته بر روی بستر آن است. این پژوهش می‌کوشد به منظور یافتن دلایل تفاوت‌های مذکور، مفهوم نظرگاه از دو بعد محتوا و کالبد را در نمونه‌های هندی، مورد مطالعه قرار دهد و نتیجه آن را با نمونه‌های ایرانی مقایسه کند. با توجه به این پژوهش، نظرگاه در باغ‌های هندی برخلاف نمونه ایرانی، نه به منظور ادراک منظر گزیده و طراحی‌شده خیابان اصلی باغ، بلکه برای تسلط همه‌جانبه بر سطوح مختلف آن طراحی شده است. در واقع درک متفاوتی که از منظره‌پردازی باغ هندی پدید می‌آید، مفهوم نظرگاه را دگرگون ساخته است. این امر حتی کالبد نظرگاه را تحت تأثیر قرار داده و شکلی متفاوت از باغ ایرانی پیدا کرده است.
